jealous

i'm jealous that other people have internet in my neighborhood and my secret hope of sharing someone's unsecure site seems to have dwindled. i may knock door to door and see if i can pay half of someone's bill so i don't have to pay for my own. sharing is caring and cuts down on your own & neighbors' internet bill. i'll see if i have any takers.

jealous reason #2. I wasn't invited or in town for the dress up Sarah party. luckily it got posted on usa today so i could see more pics don't they all look great. check it out!

end of the oregon trail

the dalles
spencer enlightened me from his blackberry that this is where the oregon trail ended.

i've been working here today and have a meeting tomorrow before i head back to portland then back home to salem

i love old vintage signs (motels in particular)

my window shopping purchase if i had money to buy it...

the only thing that has driven me crazy is that i can't see mt. hood
i know it's just around the corner, since i've been on I-84 a few times in the last few weeks

still in shambles

so i arrived in salem in enough time to pick up two dollies and be at my house at precisely 1:05. these peeps need to know i'm late early on in our acquaintance in order for it to work out. i had 2 guys and my friend kate their to help. more was supposed to show up but lunchtime isn't the easiest time for people. don't worry i recruited on sunday since the 3-4 of us couldn't get my piano out by ourselves. i wish i had a picture of the guys yesterday getting that heavy old thing out. it's always quite a process, maybe i got it too early but now with a 40 hr a week job i can have hobbies again and my piano is on my list. along with my guitar, taking a welding class, etc.
so this morning i proudly got rid of that 26' penske truck out of my life and ran home in the misty rain. i bet my neighbors are happy and i can't wait to just drive my lil civi and whip around corners again.
sad news of the day is, i was supposed to get my heat turned on and was told i could leave a key under the mat if i wasn't home which i did just for the time to turn my truck back and run the 2.2 miles. so of course i get this, then i call they say there was a "miscommunication" and they have to type into their lil computer that i was going to leave a key. that was NOT what i was told. i explained i had no heating and had already to wait but to no avail, i have to wait till wednesday when i'm out of town and properly leave my key then. grrrr... when did their miscommunication become my cold consequence. not fair but i decided to vent here briefly instead of acting like a jerk on the phone and be worked up the rest of the day. i already have to go in the office later today to do paperwork. who likes to do that anyways. but oh i'll have benefits again and can ride my bike as i want and if i crash on a long board i can now go to a hospital. see it all works out. :) if anyone would like to unpack the rest of my stuff and feng shui my home, i'd be eternally grateful. so pray about it.

eatery, mingle, & hugs goodbye for a lil while

so it's been pure madness the past bit... i got the job monday, left fm az tuesday to get to salem by wed night to be in a meeting all day thursday. i searched for a home all day friday & sat and even looked at a few on sunday...

monday came and i found the winner! i had to check one more option to make sure but the duplex won with a little yard. there will be great garden back here in the future.
it looks slightly like a secret passageway to my bedroom... ohh ahh...so by 12:30 p.m. I had keys to my new lil' home and i purchased an airline flight home by 1:15 p.m. and few from portland at 6:50 p.m.
now i'm in utah. tomorrow is packing day and a lil get-to-gether with friends in the evening. if you didn't get an invite i probably don't have your email or phone number. so reply to me and i'll get you the info. packing the truck starts at 5 (i'm hoping on such a short notice i have enough help) then the get -together is at 8 p.m.
life has been in the fast lane... what can i say.

tagged, i'm it...now, you're it. no touchbacks

so i've seen this on other peoples' site and then i found i got tagged by juli & mindee so...

THE RULES:
1. link the person who tagged you
2. post the rules
3. tell 6 unspectacular quirks of yours
4. tag 6 fellow bloggers by linking them

1*tweezers... i don't wear makeup but i am religious about plucking my eyebrows. if you're family i'll also inform you you need some time with a good light and a mirror to touch up some areas if no one else will talk about the subject.

2*i'm prideful about my belly button, i think it is cuter than pretty much everyone.

3*if i'm nervous (especially when dating, early on) i have to go to the bathroom more frequently. weird i know. i once had a guy i was dating think i had a bladder infection or something but liquids seem to fill up my bladder when dating. this is embarrassing at times. also i seem to have a descriptive word or phrase i seem to repeat when speaking to the opposite sex that i may be interested in. i can even catch myself saying it but can't stop. my last boyfriend informed me that i wouldn't stop saying "intriguing." also embarrassing.

4*i want to jump a train but i'm too chicken to do it so far. when i see a train roll by i think of hopping on but then i'm afraid of dismounting off into sharp rocks or grabbing on and having my arm get pulled out of the socket. while being a missionary, my friend wendy and i often spoke about jumping a train in texas but were afraid of where we might end up and how we'd have to explain ourselves.

5*i can be a recycling nazi at times. like leaving my recyclables in my car until i'm in a town that adequately recycles or driving friends crazy about their need to be more devoted to recycling.

6*i will shake my fist or open my door and spit at places that i have ill feelings/memories associated with. there is really only two main areas i do this at currently and i've been trying to be more of an adult and more feminine by just shaking my fist.

there's probably more but this is what i came up with tonight.

i therefore tag a. anyone who wants to post a quirk or two about themselves to this post. i think this is funny and random. b. i also tag danielle, dezi, smash, jaimie, ram & dainon (& anyone else who secretly wants to share quirks and then say i tagged them). i don't think i've seen any tagging done on the ones i've specificially asked to share some deep darks with the world.

almost there...

i'm in hood river at a lil' coffee shop needing a lil break before my final decent into portland and salem. it's been a long ride from az and i'm in need of a good pair of chino like pants and then a place to lay my head for the night.

boise, the new boulder, was freezing. windy both last night at 1:24 a.m. and this morning when i left. burrr. i'm grateful i'm not living in eastern oregon. there are some pretty parts but i'm moving for some trees to be surrounding me in my life... and for a few other reasons.

as i reached around the columbia river, mt. hood appears in it's majesty and has already told me to come visit soon. it's quite a site with the river and the trees. i'm feeling good about things already. a lil stop to see an amazing waterfall and i will have to return again soon. i'm excited to see a concert at the gorge sometime. it was my wish to see dave matthews at red rocks or there so we shall see. more news to come!

i got the job!

i'm heading west, northwest! i got offered the job in salem oregon working with the state! i will be over a region of oregon doing juvenile crime prevention! i'm really impressed with the people i'll be working with. they're passionate about their jobs, have a good personality (i can't count how many times we laughed together in my final interview), oregon is progressive, and they're committed to children and families. i believe it will be a wonderful job and new CHANGE of excitement. i won't officially start for probably 2 weeks but i'm heading up for a meeting i should be to on thursday. so i've got to grease up the wagon wheels and heave ho to oregon!
